Trainer Group
Members of the trainer group receive training to enable them to undertake the role of user trainer for Augment. The training provided is tailored to the trainee's needs and each package is specific to the requirements of the groups and organisations receiving training. Examples of training packages delivered include; Service User Perspective & Personal Stories, Mental Health Awareness, Mental Wellbeing, Mental Health Promotion and specific subject areas such as body image and self harm.
They have provided training to; 3rd year medical students, trainee mental health officers, Fire Brigade, volunteer advocates with Angus Independent Advocacy, APEX staff, pupils at Webster High as well as providing training and drama presentations for Augment's AGM amongst others.
Augment's Trainer Group is a part of our Collective Advocacy Project. Our trainers are members who have or have had experience of mental health issues and have received training so they may deliver mental health awareness training both professionally and effectively.
Augment's Trainer Group provides mental health awareness training for a wide range of organisations. These include all of Angus' secondary schools, Mental Health Officers, Angus Independent Advocacy, third year medical students at Ninewells Hospital and Apex - an organisation dealing with the rehabilitation of offenders. We have recently been requested to provide mental health awareness training for Social Workers in Dundee addressing mental health in the workplace.
Our training packages can be catered to meet any specific needs requested and any time limitations. We offer training packages that can last from just 30 minutes to a whole day's awareness training (please see the attached sample agenda).
